Ranthambore Day Tour

Ranthambore Day Tour: An Expedition to Wildlife

Choosing the best destinations for going on a single-day trip near Delhi, we were planning our escape from our monotonous life and then we came across with a suggestion to explore Ranthambore. Being located in Sawai Madhopur district of Rajasthan, Ranthambore is approximately 394 kilometers away. So we choose to go on a Ranthambore safari tour by train, thus we board a train from Nizamuddin Station for Sawai Madhopur Railway Station. Once we reach to pre-booked hotel in Sawai Madhopur, we have served with refreshments and take rest for some time.

Ranthambore safari
We have researched that Ranthambore Safari office opens at 5:00 am in the morning thus we choose to walk towards the safari office. As we were a group of 7, we booked one gypsy and got ready for the jungle safari in Ranthambore National Park. Around the safari office, there are some small vendors from whom we bought some snacks for our safari trip. We were allotted with the ticket of route 10 and our guide name instructs us for the jungle safari ride. Our jungle safari lasts from 6:30 am to 9:30 am.

Wildlife in Ranthambore
Being surrounded by the hills, Ranthambore National Park increases its intense beauty by the mesmerizing locality. There is a dry river in the jungle, besides this, there are some different types of trees, flowers, and almost acacia tree. Once we entered the jungle, we saw many animals running away after hearing the sound of a vehicle. So, our guide requests us to be quiet and enjoy the safari without standing on a vehicle. Going on a safari ride in open gypsy was truly more exciting than anything else we could have a plan for our escape. We spotted deer, nilgai, sambhar, chital, chinkara, and many other different types of birds and grey colored rabbits. Our safari guide said that this route has previously spotted seven tigers, but we are not lucky enough to spot tigers. The overall jungle safari experience was awesome but we could go for only one safari because of the extreme heat and limited time.

Visit Ranthambore Fort
After ending up with the safari, we had lunch and then proceed towards the fort which is around 8-10 kilometer away from safari route 10, thus hiring a local cab is best suitable to cover the distance. To reach the fortress we had to hike the last 2-3 kilometers. En route, we saw innumerable mango trees and we enjoyed the green and sour mangoes. We also saw the second largest Banyan Tree on our way. Ranthambore Fort is famous for its great history and ancient Ganesh Temple. We hire a guide who assists us to the Hindu Temple, Jain Temple, Darga, and Mosque. We need to climb 300 stairs to reach the top of the fort. Surrounding the fort there is one of the biggest lakes adjacent to the fort. The fort’s grand walls had a different type of circular symbol which was the symbol of Chauhan’s Kingdom.

Chattris & temples
From the top of the fort, we have captured the most beautiful view of the lake. After Ranthambore Fort, we proceed further for visiting 32 pillars Chhatri which was constructed by the King Hammir Dev in the memory of this father. One of the Chhatri consists of Shiva Temple where we prayed. Afterward, we moved towards the Ganesh Temple which is another most popular attraction of Ranthambore.

We are almost completed with our Ranthambore sightseeing, thus we returned back to the best hotel in Ranthambore to get relaxed for some time and have refreshments. Afterward, we check-out from the hotel and then proceed towards the railway station to board a train connecting to Delhi from Sawai Madhopur and this is how our Ranthambore day trip comes to an end.
